Filamento (“the app”) is an on-device FDM slicer for Android. This policy
explains what data the app handles and how. It applies to the app published under the
package name in.eextrudex.filamento on Google Play.
Summary
Filamento does not collect, transmit, or sell any personal data to the
developer or to any third party. There are no analytics, no advertising, no crash-reporting
services, and no user accounts. All model files, slicing data, and settings stay on your
device unless you explicitly send them to a printer or share them.
Data the app stores on your device
- Printer connections — when you add a networked printer you enter a
host name or IP address, a port, and optionally an API key. This information is stored
locally on your device (in the app’s private storage) and is used only to
communicate with that printer. It is never sent anywhere else.
- Models, profiles, and slicing results — 3D model files you import
(STL, OBJ, 3MF), printer and filament profiles, and generated G-code are kept in the
app’s local storage.
- App preferences — your configuration edits and UI state are stored
locally.
Network activity
Filamento makes network connections only to destinations you choose:
- Sending prints — when you use “Send to printer” or
hold-to-print, the app uploads G-code to the print host you configured (Moonraker,
OctoPrint, Duet, or PrusaLink). This connection goes directly from your device to that
host on your network or a server you control. The developer has no access to it and
receives no copy of the file or any telemetry.
- Printer status — the app may poll a configured print host for job
progress and temperatures. This data is displayed on your device and not retained
elsewhere.
The app does not contact any server operated by the developer. It has no backend.
Data you export or share
- Download — saving G-code writes a file to your device’s public
Downloads/Filamento folder.
- Share — using the system share sheet sends the selected file to
whichever app you pick. That transfer is handled by Android and the receiving app, not
by Filamento.
Permissions
Filamento requests internet access to communicate with printers you add, and storage
access to import models and save exported G-code. It does not request access to your
contacts, location, camera, microphone, or other sensitive data.
Children
Filamento is a tool for 3D-printing enthusiasts and is not directed at children under 13.
It does not knowingly collect any information from children.
Changes to this policy
If the app’s data practices change, this page will be updated and the
“last updated” date above will change. Material changes will be noted in the
app’s release notes on Google Play.
